 Becky Jackson Curran

Becky Jackson Curran is a nationally recognized disability advocate, TEDx speaker, and media personality whose work has helped reshape conversations around representation and inclusion. Born with dwarfism, Becky has spent decades challenging cultural assumptions about disability, not only through advocacy but also through increasing visibility.

From national media appearances to stages around the country, Becky has become a leading voice in disability rights, urging institutions and individuals alike to rethink what inclusion truly means.

 Unlikely Friendship

A spinal injury related to her dwarfism left Becky briefly unable to walk. During that time, Becky met Maryanne, a Kenyan woman who became her helper through a season of healing.

What began as practical support became a friendship between two women who had each learned, in different ways, what it means to move through the world feeling set apart. Becky had spent her life navigating visibility and difference. Marianne had carved her own path in a new country, shaped by resilience and sacrifice. In finding each other, they discovered not only strength but companionship, building a bond that has changed both of their lives.

 Visibility & Disability

Most people have never had a real conversation with a little person. Stories like Becky's remain rare in media, not because disabled people aren't living full, complex lives, but because those lives are so rarely given space on a screen.

Becky has spent her career insisting that representation matters and that disability is not one size fits all. The intimacy, the vulnerability, the friendship at the center of this story are exactly the kinds of experiences that deserve to be seen. Not as inspiration. Not as tragedy. Just as life, with all its complicated texture and unexpected relationships.
